What is the difference between flash arrays and conventional disk arrays?

Conventional disk arrays are usually deployed with multiple spinning disks that are designed to store data on rotating platters and accessed via mechanical read/write heads.

Unlike conventional disk arrays, flash arrays are built with multiple SSDs. With the benefits of SSDs, flash arrays can provide better performance compared to conventional disk arrays.
